Thousands marched in the Tri-Cities, Walla Walla, and Yakima on January 21st. The Tri-City Herald reported that
"Over 1,000 participants joined the Tri-Cities
Women's March on Saturday at John Dam Plaza in Richland. The Richland
walk was one of hundreds across the country with the goal of supporting
human rights in light of the new presidential administration."
Benton County and 8th Legislative District Democrats were out in force, braving snow, freezing temperatures, and icy roads, to assert progressive principles; the right to adequate healthcare, reproductive rights, equality, social justice, quality education, and a liveable climate, common decency, and "love not hate!"
Further actions/events are being planned to push back against a Trump Administration that seems bent on rolling back hard-won rights for women and minorities, and for all people who value the principles of inclusiveness and compassion.
